Product: BASE-TEE-001

General
Variations
Categories

The variation family starts with one base product in the storefront catalog.

Create Base Product

Start with the parent product that will hold the variation family.

Keep Base Online

The base product must be online to appear on the storefront.

Keep Base Searchable

The base product must be searchable to appear in search and category listing results.

Guide: Variation Setup

01

Create The Base Product

Create the parent product first. This base product owns the variation model, category assignment, and storefront visibility.

02

Attach Variations

Create each variation product separately, then assign it back to the base product from the Variations tab.

03

Categorize The Base

Assign the base product to a storefront category. This is what makes the variation family browsable from category pages.

04

Price And Inventory

Set price and inventory on each variation product, not on the base product.

05

Storefront Check

Preview the base product on the storefront and confirm the variation family is visible.

06

Remember The Split

Use the final summary as a quick reminder of what belongs on the base product and what belongs on each variation.

Security Note

Rule of thumb: categories and storefront visibility live on the base product; price and inventory live on the child variation SKUs.
